Hi, thank you for visiting!
I’m Steph.
Your lived experience (& late-diagnosed) Autistic, ADHD VA
I provide affirming and inclusive support to Neurodivergent folk
Let me tell you a little more about me, Beam VA and my supurrvisory team …
Having worked in administration roles since I was 17 (alllll the way back in 2011), I finally got a taste of the work-from-home life in early 2022, and there was no way I was EVER going back. Masking and wearing uncomfy clothes everyday? Ew, David.
Despite the good parts of working from home, I still wasn’t fullfilled. I wasn’t helping anyone. I had studied teaching prior but burnt out quickly at uni and on prac. I felt stuck in office jobs and longed to make a meaningful impact. One night, completely out of the blue, I realised that if I was providing my skills to multiple people, rather than one organisation, I could make a difference for everyday people that were struggling to find balance while running their small business.
Prone to overthinking and talking myself out of ideas, I didn’t give it a second thought. This was it. I annoyed my friends for a week asking for advice on business names, ’What about Sparrow Virtual Administration? Inspire? Beam?’
until we agreed on one that felt right. Beam Virtual Administration was born, and I’ve never looked back.
The more I worked with my ideal clients, the more I learnt about myself. I didn’t even realise I had been masking my whole life. I’d been questioning whether I had ADHD since about 2019 and, in time for my 30th birthday in 2023, I received the report that explained so much. ADHD-Combined and Autism.
Embracing this diagnosis has allowed me to create the business that suits not only my clients, but my own needs as well. I support neurodivergent people because I am neurodivergent people. Put simply, I get it.
I have grown this business around my values of mutual flexibility, authenticity and trust. Handing over the reins of your work or your personal life is scary, but I’m here to reassure you that you don’t need to do it all alone.
meet my supurrvisors!
